Opinion - Sarikei Tourism Drive: The Food Trail

What will attract tourists to Sarikei? Food has always been a cultural experience for those with a yearn or yen to travel.

Below is my selection (not in order of preference) which may be different from yours. I did not include the RM$15 big prawn assam tom yam noodle from Gloria's Cafe (near Wharf Terminal 2) as I have not tasted it and will blog about it later.

The links are in the captions if you like to refresh your taste buds.

Sarikei indeed has great potential for tourist attractions on its own local features. It can offer great local foods and fruits. We only lack of promotions as Sarikei has been lost its attention from Sarawak government. My friend of mine in KK told me that Sarikei is a quite and peaceful town but it offers lots of foods and fruits.

There should be a map at Wharf Terminal 1 and 2 each that points out where the great food is located.

In this digital edge, it's not difficult to do a map. Maybe this can be student project. I know there are Sarikei teachers reading this blog...pls take up this idea...and maybe present at Pesta Sarikei. Maybe the tourism board will take up the best of all student's inputs. :)
