Thanks for your support for this blog. The number of visits had just exceeded 100,000. When I started the blog on 5 March 2006 as a hobby, blogging was the in thing then. Social networking like Facebook and microblogging like Twitter were unknown then.

I got about 0-10 visitors a day vs ~100/day now. There was a dearth of Sarikei articles online. That was my inspiration. The bloggers on Sarikei then like Fred, SL Chen, etc, have virtually retired their blogs now.

My writing style has changed. My frequency of posts has also dropped due to work and other commitment. You will start to see some short posts to increase the frequency of posts to satisfy your addiction for Sarikei information. You should also sign up for Sarikeian facebook at the sidebar for more frequent doses of Sarikei.

There's enough blog content to last thru the year. There are many tougher posts that I have not written yet like the history of Methodist School and Sekolah Abang Haji Mahathir (I have the info of both schools but translation is in progress), history of other shop blocks, ... and many rarely seen old pictures which I may reserve for a book (for fund raising..maybe for causes like St. Anthony's School hall, Sekolah Tinggi's hall and others..)

Let the journey continue ...
